Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 23 April 2026
1. About these Terms
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Your Family Leave Plan ("YFLP", "we", "us", "our"), including our website, planner, account features, and related services.
By accessing or using YFLP, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the service.
2. About the Service
YFLP is an independent UK family leave and pay planning tool for individuals and families. It is designed to help users understand and model possible leave and pay scenarios based on:
- the information they enter;
- UK statutory rules as reflected in the service at the time of use; and
- any employer policy information entered or interpreted within the planner.
YFLP is a planning and information tool only. It is not a payroll service, HR system, legal service, financial advice service, or official government service.
3. Important Limits on the Service
YFLP provides estimates and planning outputs only.
Use of YFLP does not:
- confirm your legal eligibility for leave or pay;
- guarantee that your employer will approve a leave pattern;
- guarantee that any modelled payment will be made;
- replace checking the latest official guidance; or
- replace taking professional advice where needed.
You remain responsible for checking your entitlement, leave approval, and pay arrangements with your employer and, where relevant, against current official guidance.
4. Gross Figures and Estimated Outputs
Unless we clearly state otherwise, figures shown in YFLP are gross figures before tax, National Insurance, pension deductions, student loan deductions, salary sacrifice, attachment orders, or any other personal payroll adjustments.
Outputs may differ from what you actually receive because, for example:
- your tax position may differ from standard assumptions;
- payroll timing and payroll methods vary;
- you may have multiple employments or variable earnings;
- your employer may interpret or apply a policy differently; and
- some scenarios, edge cases, or factual inputs may not be fully captured by the service.
Where YFLP includes an indicative take-home or net-pay style view, that output is illustrative only and should not be treated as payroll, tax, or financial advice.
5. Acceptable Use
You may use YFLP only for lawful purposes. You must not misuse YFLP, including by trying to gain unauthorised access to accounts or systems, interfering with how the service works, using the service for unlawful purposes, or presenting planner outputs as official legal, payroll, HR, or government determinations.
6. Accounts and Saved Plans
Some features require an account.
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and taking reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access to your account.
We may suspend or restrict access to accounts where we reasonably believe there has been misuse, unlawful activity, security risk, or breach of these Terms.
7. User Inputs and Planner Content
Planner outputs depend on the information you enter. If you enter incomplete, inaccurate, or out-of-date information, the outputs may also be incomplete or inaccurate.
If YFLP includes features that interpret employer policy, generate summaries, or assist with draft wording, those features are supportive tools only. You must review all outputs carefully before relying on them, sharing them, or sending them to an employer or any third party.
8. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in YFLP, including the website, branding, design, text, software, logic, and content created by us, belong to us or our licensors unless otherwise stated.
We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use YFLP for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.
You must not reproduce, distribute, adapt, sell, or commercially exploit any part of YFLP.
9. Service Changes, Availability, and Updates
We may update, improve, change, suspend, or withdraw any part of YFLP at any time.
We do not guarantee that:
- the service will always be available;
- the service will be uninterrupted or error-free; or
- every statutory, payroll, employer-policy, or edge-case scenario will be captured.
We may make changes to reflect product improvements, legal or regulatory developments, security needs, technical changes, or operational requirements.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
YFLP may rely on or link to third-party services, including for authentication, hosting, analytics, communications, or infrastructure. We are not responsible for third-party websites, services, or policies, except to the extent required by law.
Your use of third-party services may also be subject to those third parties' own terms and privacy policies.
11. Liability
YFLP is a planning tool only. It is not legal, financial, HR, payroll, or tax advice.
You are responsible for reviewing your inputs, checking the outputs, and confirming any entitlement, leave arrangement, or pay expectation with your employer and the latest official guidance before acting on it.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, cost, claim, or damage arising from:
- information entered into the service that is incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date;
- reliance on estimated or modelled outputs;
- employer decisions, payroll treatment, tax treatment, or benefits administration;
- differences between modelled and actual entitlement, pay, or approval; or
- use of YFLP as a substitute for professional advice or official confirmation.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
12. Privacy and Data Protection
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data. By using YFLP, you acknowledge that your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
13. Ending Use of the Service
You may stop using YFLP at any time.
Where account deletion or saved-plan deletion tools are made available, you may use those features to remove your stored data from within the product, subject to any limited retention we may need for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or operational reasons as explained in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access where we reasonably consider that:
- you have breached these Terms;
- your use creates legal, operational, or security risk; or
- we need to do so to protect the service, other users, or our business.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted on our website with the revised "Last updated" date.
Where changes are material, we may also take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention. By continuing to use YFLP after updated Terms take effect, you agree to the revised Terms.
